Conservation and restoration projects

We would like to highlight the programmes for the restoration and preservation of the 20th century architectural heritage promoted by such international organisations as ICOMOS and DOCOMOMO, which are reflected in various initiatives: the Docomomo Italia catalogue, and the project promoted by Docomomo International – Docomomo International MoMove (Docomomo Virtual Exhibition), a mapping of 20th century buildings through which certain works designed by Pier Luigi Nervi (also in collaboration with other architects) are surveyed and catalogued: Magazzino Nervi, Margherita di Savoia; Torino Esposizioni, Turin; Place Victoria, Montreal; Embassy of Italy, Brasilia; Good Hope Center, Cape Town; Olympic Village, Rome with Moretti, Libera, Cafiero, Luccichenti; Sports Arena, Rome, with Annibale Vitellozzi; Autogrill Motta, Limena; Stadio Flaminio, Rome; Sports Arena, Rome, with Piacentini; Artemio Franchi Stadium, Florence; Cartiera Burgo (Burgo Paper mill), Mantua; Grattacielo Pirelli, Milan, with Gio Ponti

We therefore recall the Keeping it Modern funding programme which has been promoted since 2014 by the Getty Foundation (https://www.getty.edu/foundation/initiatives/current/keeping_it_modern/), thanks to which, the following projects were financed: the Saloni B and C  for Torino Esposizioni (1947), the Stadio Flaminio in Rome (1957-1959), Lina Bo Bardi’s Casa de vidro.
